If you're looking for a Valentine's Day cocktail, I present to you the "My Girl." A rosella flower cocktail that I've had in my repertoire for the past few years. It is a twist to the classic Clover Club cocktail that replaces raspberry syrup with the homemade rosella syrup. Refreshing, light, and undeniably pinkish-red, it perfectly sums up a Valentines cocktail. Whether you are celebrating with a loved one, friends, or even yourself, try this recipe out for size!
My Girl
• 45ml Gin
• 30ml Homemade Rosella (Hibiscus) Syrup
• 30ml Lemon Juice
• 15ml Egg White
Combine ingredients in a shaker and shake hard. Add ice and shake again. Double strain into a glass. Garnish with a rose petal. Enjoy!
Homemade Rosella (Hibiscus) Syrup
In a pot, add 150ml of water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and add 1/2 cup of dried rosella (hibiscus) flowers for 5-7 minutes. Then strain out the flowers and add equal parts of sugar to the hot water. Stir till dissolved and let cool. Transfer the syrup to a bottle and keep in the fridge.
