This coffee cocktail came about late in the 20th century and has stayed an essential cocktail on bar menus ever since. A perfect balance of booze, coffee, and sugar, the Espresso Martini is simply a delicious tipple.
One of my absolute and go-to cocktails at the bar, the Espresso Martini is one of the drinks that got me into coffee. Smooth, light, and a great pick up in the middle of a long night out. However, the recipe of a great glass requires a quality coffee liqueur, a quality coffee, and most importantly a quality vodka.
Haku Vodka makes an excellent base spirit for this popular cocktail classic. Made from white rice, twice distilled, and filtered through bamboo charcoal, it leaves some unique tasting notes.
45ml Haku Vodka
30ml Coffee Liqueur
30ml Espresso/Cold Brew Coffee
10ml Simple Syrup
Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until well chilled. Then double strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with three coffee beans.
