Since vaccines are a hot topic nowadays and everyone must get their doses ASAP, I thought I'd get some skin in the game with a vaccine inspired cocktail. Here in Indonesia, the second brand of vaccines that came into the country early this year was the AstraZeneca.

Playing with the name, I decided to make a drink surrounding the beautiful fresh bitter aperitif, Aperol. An Italian bitter aperitif made of gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona, its vibrant orange hue is iconic. Combined with the sweet sour combination and the added freshness of soda water, this is a great recipe to beat the heat. Serves well over ice, it is an easy sipper to have with you throughout the day. Have a try and let me know what you think!

AperoZeneca

  • 60ml Aperol

  • 30ml Lemon Juice

  • 15ml Simple Syrup

  • 15ml Egg White

  • Top Up Soda Water

Combine the ingredient, except the soda water, in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a glass over ice. Top up with soda water. Express an orange peel over the cocktail and garnish. Enjoy!
