One of my favorite and go to drinks of last year has been the Americano. Not the Caffè Americano but the Americano cocktail. This delectable tipple first served in the 1860’s in Gaspare Campari’s bar, is a simple concoction of Campari, sweet vermouth, and soda water. Bittersweet and refreshing, this is my go-to aperitif cocktail on even the hottest of days.

In case you didn’t know, the Americano was actually the first drink ordered by James Bond in the novel Casino Royale (1953). This fancy drink deserved fancy glassware. So I picked out a beautifully handmade Schott Zwiesel Hommage Comete longdrink glass as a perfect vessel for the cocktail.

Americano

• 30ml Campari

• 30ml Sweet Vermouth

• Top up with Soda Water

Combine ingredients in a highball glass over ice. Stir. Garnish with an orange slice. Enjoy!
